16" Howitzer M1920 (FSA) These four huge guns, the only four ever activated, were part of the late WW1 build up. Located on concrete pads and serviced by four magazines each (connected by a narrow gauge railway) these guns were known as "Battery Pennington" and later split in 1940 as "Pennington and Walke". In place no later than 1924, they were later protected with steel shields (1944) and sadly sold for scrap in 1949. Much of the battery still remains today.
